There was also a German translation of the first game which you might be able to learn something from (similar in nature tends to mean similar in code and it would have tackled graphics and text). All that said if you have the information then C# and python have never been easier to learn and both have made some very powerful graphical ROM hacking applications and you can probably even adapt some of the existing tools to do what you want (sprite extraction/editing tools are usually so much extra compression and different offsets and even level editors are not that bad to convert between games). There were a few boards/sites vying for the "go to place for MMBN hacking" crown, but most of them seemed to be on the forum incubator networks which I rarely count as a good sign, still was one of the better ones and it includes some information. Means to do it- Megaman has some tools and information but nothing close to the likes pokemon, golden sun, fire emblem or even advance wars the last time I checked and most places I saw megaman battle network work revolved mainly around cheats, asset extraction* and save state/save game editing. ![]() Possible- anything can be edited and as long as you do not try to push the limits of the hardware too much (which simply doing a kind of fan game in the original engine would be far from). ![]()
